So tonight I went out with some friends, and one of my friends girlfriend was in town. They've traveled quite a bit overseas and the girl was telling us about a time they were shopping in Shanghai and she picked up a skirt she thought was cute. The salesgirls in the store did not speak English, so they could not express what they wanted to say, so they walked over to her and started measuring her with their hands. Yes, their hands! They put their palms out flat and measured her ass like people measure horses. Then, to make things ever weirder, they measured the skirt the same way.
My friend and I could tell this story was going somewhere good, but we had no idea where.
After measuring both her ass and the skirt, they frantically start waving their hands and shaking their heads and say "No! No! No!", like her thinking the skirt was cute was a personal affront to them. While this would be mortifying to any girl it happened to, it was a fantastic story. Reminds me of a t-shirt I once saw that said "I'm not fat, I'm American". We should all just wear those. I mean, it is genetically impossible for an American to be as small as an Asian. I am speaking of aggregates, not everyone, so don't get defensive. I mean, we are taller people, who have lots of and lots of food available to us. It's not our fault we feel like we have to eat it all.
