Sacrifice this

Lenten promises:
  • I promise I will not drink any Starbucks
  • I promise I will not eat any sweets (not including gum or mints)
  • I promise I will do everything in my power to stick to my "March Madness" workout schedule, as detailed on the other blog
  • I promise I will try, seriously try, to keep a clean apartment
  • I promise I will try, again SERIOUSLY try, to get out of bed shortly after my alarms go off, and not hit snooze for, well, I don't know, HOURS.
  • I will send at least five resumes each week
  • I will rid my apartment of clutter, so as to live a peaceful existence
  • I will focus on the date May 3, 2006.

Ooh, I like the idea of Lenten promises. They appeal to the non-practicing Catholic in me. It's kind of like giving yourself a mulligan for those New Year's resolutions you didn't keep.

I must work on mine. :)

I also am a non-practicing Catholic (and am thinking of converting to a 'Catholic-lite'-type religion) but for some reason I take Lent very seriously. It's the one time I can usually practice willpower.

Clearly even though I'm not a church-goer I'm still a God-fearer! :)
