Fraulein!

Ich spreche Deutsch, die Sprache des Genius.

Ich habe einen gelben Bleistift.

Wo wohnst due?  Ich wohne on die Ecke.   Ich wohne da rüber.

Kennst du Ingo?  Ja, Ingo ist mein Freund.

...and that, my friends, pretty much sums up what I remember from three high school years and two college semesters of German language classes.  When I look at old textbooks (I have the book from my freshman German class and both books from college), it's as if I'm attempting to read hieroglyphics.

While I understand that Mandarin Chinese is the most widely spoken language in the world, I've decided to attempt to build on past lessons/rejuvenate old synapses and just downloaded some free German podcasts from iTunes.

Tschüss!

PS - Imagine how delighted I was when I figured out how to use German letters!  Squeeee!

Good for you! I downloaded French on itunes because I couldn't afford to keep taking classes and I didn't want to get rusty. I haven't listened to any in a while, but now you motivated me to get back to it. :)
