Good advice, in theory.

I like apples. I enjoy the fall season when you can get your hands on many varieties of apples, such as Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji, Pink Lady, Granny Smith, et al. The idea of going to an apple orchard, picking apples to take home and then unwinding with a hot cup of apple cider and a cider donut is a magical idea and one I wish I wasn't to lazy and unorganized to make a reality.

I have been known to buy an assortment of apples and eat one a day until they are gone, and then head to the store or Farmer's Market to buy more. I believe there could be truth in the saying "An apple a day keeps the doctor away", because we know apples contain fiber and have antioxident properties, which are great traits for a tasty little treat to possess. If you clicked on the link, you'd also know that the United States produces 7.5% of the total world production of apples. I would have guessed more, wouldn't you?

Apples have a tumultuous history, what with Eve and Eris not being able to contain their curiousity and jealously, respectively, but overall they have been able to shake the unfavorable image and have become one of the world's favorite fruits.

However. I must admit when I am sitting in class and one of my classmates pulls an apple from their bag, I cringe. Apples are not quiet. I don't care if you have superpowers, there is no soundless way to eat an apple. I understand most of my classmates come to school straight from work (give me a break, I used to do the same!), with no time to stop and eat, but can't they pack quieter foods? A turkey sandwich, for instance! Or if you are vegetarian or vegan, some grapes! I know I have sensitive ears when it comes to eating, as I can be driven batty by superloud gum chewers, but I can't be the only one who notices this? Can I?

ok... seriously! it's like eating carrots or celery or kettle chips or some other obnoxiously loud food whist in an almost deafening silence. that's one of those things that will send me into a tizzy... creates an almost uncontrollable level of anxiety in me... just want to clobber people hehehe

did you get that gum popping issue from my mother too?? ;) i know for a fact that's where my eating noise issues came from!!

Yes! Thanks AL, for making it impossible to eat meals with people who have horrible table manners (which is more ppl than I care to count) or stand near obnoxious gum snappers. Lord! It's about twenty times worse than fingernails on a chalkboard!
